A Beautiful Brighton Wedding
The Natural Bride
To prime the skin I used Embryolisse cream. It's a 3 in 1 moisturiser lotion, primer and makeup remover. It's great for all skin types which is fantastic so it's a definite must have product for my makeup kit.
For base I love my RCMA palette. There's no SPF in it so it’s perfect for bridal makeup as it won’t cause flashback, and because it's so pigmented you can use just a tiny amount to get the coverage you desire.
For eyes I used the MAC rose palette. I absolutely love the pretty pink tones in it, and it has a mixture of matte and shimmer shadows - it’s such a perfect bridal palette and is my go to.
I finished the eyes off with individual cluster lashes. They were subtle and understated, but still opened up the eyes and looked stunning, and finally of course some waterproof mascara!
On the lips I used my ultimate favourite, Stila lip glaze in banana berry.
This look was so much fun. I was really excited when I was approached by the “bridesman” to do his makeup - he wanted flawless dewy skin, very natural, and strong defined brows.
To create his dewy skin I used MAC strobe cream as a base, then I used MAC face and body as a light coverage foundation. Again theres no SPF in it so its perfect when theres lots of photography and great for a dewy fresh skin.
I used Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade on his eyebrows to get a really defined brow, and a few short individual cluster lashes on the outer corners of his eyes to open them up.
A little bronzer to add some warmth and contouring back into his skin which was taken away by the foundation, and then some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on the lips.
The Mother of the Bride
For the mother of the bride I used The Ordinary High Spreadability Fluid Primer. It's really affordable, has a lovely serum texture, and is a perfect primer for dry skin.
For foundation I used my holy grail RCMA foundation palette but I mixed some of the product with embryolisse cream to give her a refreshed glow whilst still hydrating her skin.
On her eyes a used a dark brown eyeshadow to create a soft eyeliner on top of her lid - along with a couple of layers of waterproof mascara.
I used a pale pink shimmer on the inner part of her eyes for a youthful fresh look and we used the clients favourite lipstick so she could top herself up throughout the day.
It’s so important that you feel comfortable with your makeup and many times my brides or member of the bridal party will ask me to use their own favourite lipstick. If you have a colour that you wear all the time, whether its bright red, hot pink or nude, and its what you love and makes you feel like you - then its important to tell your makeup artist, because at the end of the day it’s your makeup, it’s your day and you'll be the one looking back at the photos so you need to be 100% happy.
I used a mattifying primer on the T zone where the client gets oily, some MAC prep and prime fix+ spray and then went in with foundation. I always use MAC fix+ because it’s a great way to add an instant boost of hydration to skin, I use it at the start of makeup and also at the end to help set it all. It is an absolute holy grail product and I couldn't live without it!
To give her a lovely glowy bronzed skin I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette on her cheeks, and forehead - areas on the face that would naturally be kissed by the sun!
I used a pretty blush to give some healthy colour to the cheeks, and my favourite highlighter MAC soft and gentle on the top of her cheekbones.
After using a primer on the eyes, I used my PUR soul mattes eyeshadow palette which has some beautiful matte rosy, berry and neutral tones in.
It’s important to use a primer on the eyelid as it stops the shadow from creasing and will help your eyeshadow stay on all day. You don't have to have a specific eyeshadow primer, concealer will do!
I shaped her brows with a little powder and some clear brow gel to keep them lovely and full.
We went for a natural pink/nude lip so as not to take away from her eyes which were the most beautiful colour!
